New Restaurants to visit in New York City

Every now and then even the most experience food connoisseurs are searching for new restaurants to try.

So where are new restaurants to consider?

This week we bring you six new restaurants for you to consider and experience on your next night out. The list this week includes two italian restaurants with their own unique flavors, Tamarind – a place to definitely try, and two hotel restaurants.

Quinto Quarto

Quinto Quarto is a small and reasonably priced restaurant on Belford St in the village. They have an adequate menu of choices and a delightful coniglio al forno, which consists of baked rabbit with rosemary and sage.  If you haven’t tried rabbit (much like me) this is the place to be a little adventurous and go for it.  For those pasta lovers, the traditional pasta al dente is a priority here and their pasta dishes are outstanding. On another positive note, save room for the desserts! In particular, their Souffle al Cioccolato  is delightful.

Alright so I tried to keep the fancy restaurants off the list but couldn’t help myself and had to add Tamarind.  However, it is not your typical fancy restaurant. Tamarind has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with a cuisine many of us have not tried.  Tamarind restaurant take the traditional Indian cuisine and carefully crafts plates that can be enjoyed by everyone. The dishes are generous sizes and if you are looking to experiment this is a great new place to start. The experience starts as soon as you open the menu with words such as “KHAZANA-E-AATISH”  and “ACHARI HIRAN KI CHHAMPEN” – don’t worry, there is a description next to it!

Plataforma Churrascaria Rodizio – editor’s pick

I hope you are hungry because Plataforma Churracaria Rodizio is getting ready to hit your table with giant skewers holding some delicious meats! This is by far one of the biggest and most delicious rodizio places in New York City. The restaurant offers a comfortable environment and can be enjoyed with large groups of people. The service is also outstanding and you never have to wait to be served another piece.

If you have room for the dessert, make sure you get it. There is nothing like a good flan straight from Brasil!

Imperial No. Nine

From the moment you enter the Mondrian Hotel in Soho, you start expecting everything to be fabulous.  As you arrive inside the 150-seat restaurant with large bar, a trendy and elegant atmosphere unfolds. The menu consists of mainly seafood but with plenty of choices. In particular, the king crab a la plancha is a must to order if you visit this restaurant. The only downside to this restaurant is that it lacks attention to detail, but the food certainly makes up for it.  As always, reservations are a must for Soho restaurants.

Quattro Gastronomia Italiana

For one of the best Northern-Italian Restaurants New York City has to offer, Quattro Gastronomia Italian is it. The restaurant offers an elegant atmosphere and highly attentive staff. The food is also very carefully crafted and absolutely delicious, specially the gnocci.  This is a great restaurant for romantic dates and after work meetings.

The Barclay Bar & Grill

Located within the InterContinental Hotel on East 48th St, The Barclay bar and grill is a descent place to grab a quick bite to eat. It lacks a definitive division from the hotel and the food isn’t worth the price.  However, the drinks were certainly descent and a few drinks can enhance the experience.
